Well we are 4 games into the 08-09 WCHA season. A sweep over JBSU and 3 out of 4 against the Red Menace. Have they been tested? YUP. Have they delivered. YUP. Will it continue?
With all the frosh's on the team, time will tell.

This weekend brings us to St.Paul and the "charity hockey showcase". It is so named by this rube because of the pissing and moaning by those who root for the landcows.

Do you understand this is a financial windfall for your JR college? What is the capacity of your arena? Do the math.

Sprint Ahead

So today is July 16th and STILL NO PHONE! I just got a post card that stated the phone was on back order!BACK ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I call to find out what is going on. Th nice lady tells me that the order was placed in the "old" system so the order automatically canceled. She starts the order process and my call drops!!!!!!!!!ARHHHGGGGGGGGG!

She did call back and the order has been placed. We'll see!!!!

So here's a little story about my recent dealings with Sprint. Last November I decided to upgrade my cell phone. Easy enough. Go in, pick a phone, sign up for another 2 year term and walla. "Got me one of dem der new fangled Moto Razors"

Everything was fine until LB decided to dump a full glass of OJ into it one morning. After the obligatory "drying" out period. It still worked. Kinda. Every time I closed the phone the fecker shut off! So I left it open which in turn, killed the battery. I toughed it out as long as I could.

A week ago I decided to run over to the Edina Sprint repair store and get it fixed. I left the phone and returned the next day. The rep comes out with a baggie that has a big LD written on it. LD you say, LIQUID DAMAGE!

Ooppps how did that happen? So I asked the "intelligent looking" rep what could be done. He replies, "nothing" NOTHING? "NOPE". I can't get a replacement? "Lemmi look" he says enthusiastically. Cool a guy who can get thing done.

As he stares blankly at the screen while typing I think wow what a cool company. After 10 plus years with them they are gonna hook me up!

I can give you 75 off a new razor! WOW 75 percent I say! NOPE, 75 dollars!

Let's see new razor 250. Take off 75 gets me to 175! Activation 30 bucks. 205!!!!!!!!!

So I say that's it? "YUP" he says. So after 10 plus years with you guys I can't get a better deal. NO.

So it would cost me 175 to break the 2 year deal, walk over to another wireless provider sign a contract get a phone for nothing and take my number with and you lose a customer. "Sorry that's all we can do."

So as I ponder my next move, I figure I'll give the Sprint a call. 1, 2, 3, 4 explanations later I get a gentleman in their "retention" department. Yes RETENTION! This is after number 3 heard me say T Mobile has a great deal on the MOTO Q and data plan I'll call them.

So Brad or whatever, listens to my rant and all I ask for is the same phone at their new customer price of 29.99 and I'm good. He says, sure pick ANY phone. HUMMMMMM....Any phone? YUP! MOTO Q is awseome. SURE. How much I ask? 99.99. Cool. 500 phone for a hondo!? Hook me up!

After a brief discussion about terms, conditions and other BS he says, "OK, order is in you'll have it in 1-3 days." SWEET a man who can get things done!

Today is my 7th day waiting. So I call back and get a different monkey. She says sir, "I'm sorry but I don't see an order for you." FERCHRISTSAKES! I yell. After a lot of LISTENING by her, notice I didn't say yelling by me, she assures me that my for is ordered and on the way.

Wandering in Blogger

Last night I decided to play with that little button right up there^ You know the one that sends you to random Blogger pages. Let me tell you there are VERY sick puppies out there. The most interesting one (if I can be so bold) was a girl, unknown age probably a teen. She had a eating disorder. She said she was 5-3 and 127 lbs. She could not stand herself or her body. She had a TON of posts spewing how much she hated her mother. There was also a few references to "ending it all"! Wow just wow. Do parents even monitor there kids computer usage?

This made me think about the whole blog thing. Hell, I do this for fun and to throw barbs at other teams fans. I never expected/wanted input from the general population. Just wanted to ramble and vent sometimes. I know that a lot of people hide behind the anonymity of the web. Is this good for people? To publicly purge your disgust for yourself and your family?

You hate like hell to see somebody going through so much angst and pain but do you dare comment on their blog hoping in some way to reach them? Or do you merely pass by like another person walking by you on the street? I choose to pass by.

Maybe this is "my" version of reality TV. Randomly reading other peoples life tales and misery. I'm not a fan of reality TV. I am embarrassed for those people and just can not stand to watch what kind of fools they make out of themselves. Yet reading some blogs makes me want to reach through the net and slap them into real life mode. But maybe that is their life and all it will be.

I will venture back and follow her tribulations. Kinda macabre but hey variety is the spice of life!

The great waste land that is Wyoming, has decided to not allow Breckenridge school to continue to use the "Bronco" logo which the school had adopted. A second letter was sent to school officials telling them to stop using the likeness. What exactly is wrong with it? It's a high school forchristsakes! Not like they are making money off of it. Actually, it is now going to cost them money to replace uniforms and the giant logo on the gym floor! Why are all FLAT states full of A holes and dumb shits?

I only caught the first period of the game but sconi pretty much shut them down that period so most of the game must have been the same way!

0-1 on the picks. Who cares! Better DEAD then RED! Bring on bucky. It should be a helluva game. Becky has everything to play for. They need to win out to make it into the dance. The Goof's have to prove they can play with intensity for 60 minutes. One comment from a player in the FishWrapper West is as follows ""We can't lose the rest of the season; that's our motto right now" Nothing like stating the obvious! I think they are, considering last years meltdown and this years coasting into the Final Five. Yes coasting.

Better bring it boys because BECKY will be fired up for sure.

How's the weather up there in UAA land? I heard the off season for UAA players is a sure sign of spring. Early again this year I see. Maybe Punxsutawney Phil should be replaced with Anchorage Al?

A lot of missed chances, pipes and lack of... Hill said It all! Alaska State pushed it to a third game. Just a few observations if I may. The D core has been totally out of it. Vannelli and Goli look like they are playing at half speed and being just plain lazy and lackadaisical. Johnson...well he can just head out now. Number 1 my ass. Sloppy, lazy and he just does not give a shit. Kessel the cancer strikes again.

What will game 3 give us? Hopefully a week to sit and THINK about what this means to them. I'm not liking the end of this season. It is coming sooner then later.

Hell the HS tourney was more entertaining then this team tonight.
In other action. St.Clown escapes a sweep and gets a 3rd game. Suze sweeps the whiner out of a job. CC rebounds and UD gets swept by the BADgers.

Off to Mighty Tigger's House

The two worst hairdo's in college hockey go "head to head" this weekend. The Goof's take a 4 point WCHA lead to the Rockies and hope to come home with that lead. Earlier in the year the Goof's steamrolled CC at Mecca. CC sits 4th in the conference and will be playing to stay there. The will also have a chip on their shoulders from way back in October.

A POI sweep would really hurt CC and push them closer to that thang we call the bubble. A CC sweep would help their Pairwise rank a LOT!

The U is 4-4 in their last 8. CC is 3-3-2. (excludes the U18 game) CC has faced fUMD, Tech, BADgers and StClown.

The U has faced BADgers, DU, Flickertails and Alaska St. Let's hope the week off gave them a rest from competition and that tDon worked their ASSES off in practice for this important series (actually next two series)

POI get a few injured players back and should be at full bench strength this weekend. The netminders need to play HUGE this weekend and steal one. Friday night will tell the tale of the next few weeks. Can they get back to their solid D play and scoring punch? Let's practice on CC this weekend. Bobby's boys are next and will be ready.

POI gets 3 of 4 this weekend.

I hate rooting for TNSoH but this weekend we need the BADgers to show up for once and play like the defending champion. I doubt it will happen. St.Clown just has the talent over Bucky. 2-2 Friday, 4-1 Saturday. St.Clown takes 3 of 4.

DU is off this weekend and finishes with NorthDakanada and CC. Speaking of ND. They host the bottom feeders we call fUMD. Suzie sweeps and their fans start to believe. NO 8, NO 8 NO 8!

RANT ON!
In other "tribal" news, the Red Lake band has pulled another "get off my land whitey". Not only have the tax payers of this state revived a lake that they OVER FISHED TO EXTINCTION. Began commercial fishing AGAIN. Now they decided that snowmobiler's can not use the trails that cut across their land and have closed nearly 10 miles of trails in and around Lake of the Woods and Red Lake. Take that! Meanwhile all you fools continue to pump money into their casinos and eat walleye fingers! When will the people of this state wake up and make a stand? When our hairless Gov and legislature decide to. They tried once, and the war party came a runnin!

Boycott the casino's, stop eating walleye in the restaurants and for god sakes avoid Red Lake!

How about we ban tribal members from using our "sovereign" highways and roads? Hey how about a "Nation" tax? If a nation wants to use our roads, let'em pay! Goon's gang will get a boost from this one. The fact remains they are still a .500 team and on the bubble. Although I missed most of the game you could tell how it was going to turn out. How long will it take Frazee to get over THAT goal? HUMFFFF???

Meanwhile the No.1 curse is gone. Now to pull the heads out and get back to work. D has been less then stellar. Saw a lot of standing around and watching. AGAIN. On to Alaska St. No TV from the tundra. A week off and then to CC.

St.Clown splits with DU. They are both in striking distance. The end is a LOOOONNGGG way away. How good are they? We'll have to wait and see.

Police say that Jorge A. Quijada, felt "disrespected" because Pedro laughed at the gang signs the "C*NT" was flashing as they drove up 94.
